For exhibit update

So what’s new? Busy as usual (busy busyhan, hehe)

I’ve earn million eye bags already, if only I can sell my eye bags, haha

I changed my plan for the exhibit, instead of acrylic on paper, I’ll use acrylic on canvas (same feather) 

and all will be framed….

my mentor Dandel taught me how to make frames..

..so I will do it for the first time…

All is in progress, so far out of 7 paintings, I’m almost done with 5… but it still need to retouch… I hope I can finish it as soon as possible. Sorry for the low quality picture. I need to sleep now, zzzzzzzzzzzz!

Ang Pagtuturo Ay Wala Sa kagandahan Ng Pisara

“Edukasyon ng Pilipinas ito pa kaya ay may halaga? Barung-barong pisara, kulang kulang na silya, kulang na libro, hindi sapat na guro, matututo pa kaya ang kabataang Pilipino?

Sa panlabas na katangian oo nga’t maraming kakulangan, ngunit sa kakulangan, napupunan naman ito ng pangarap. Hindi man kagandahan ang pisara, may alagad naman ng karunungan na nagbibigay pag-asa sa bawat mag-aaral na Pilipino.

HIndi man kataasan ang sahod ng ating mga dakilang guro, buong puso nila inaalay ang kanilang oras sa paglilingkod… binibigay ang buong pagmamahal sa pagtuturo, isang malaking saludo para sa ating mga guro sa walang humpay nilang dedikasyon.

Tunay na ang kagandahan ng pagtuturo ay nasa guro, wala ito sa kagandahan ng gamit. Dahil ang epektibong guro magagawa niya magturo sa mas malikhain niyang pamamaraan kahit sa barung-barong na kagamitan. Lumipas man ang di mabilang na estudyante sa kanilang kamay, mapaglumaan man ang pisara pero ang guro na naging bahagi na humubog sa pagkatao ng kanilang estudyante upang matamo ang kanilang pangarap, at naging ehempliyo sa kabutihan kailanma’y hindi malilimutan.”

My Entry for Philip Morris Arts Awards… September 5 is the submission, and on the day of submission I’m still on the process of finishing it… processing requirements… submission is only until 5pm…. but I submitted around 6pm… I’m the last but not the least, hehe.. (rush eh.) This contest is quite challenging, it’s a very big painting contest for both professional and non-professional… but…. there’s no harm in trying right? heheheI My painting is not more on beauty but more in content. Thanks for my mentor Dandel for always guiding me 🙂

sana sa ganitong paraan mai-apply ko ang natutunan ko sa college of teacher of education, alam ko na hindi na ako isa sa mga magiging guro ng ating bayan, dahil mas pinili ko ang pagpipinta kesa sa pagtuturo… mahal ko din ang kurso na kinuha ko, pero kailangan ko magdesisyon…I’m struggling with the decision I made, it’s not that easy…but I have to stand for it… some may not understand me now… but soon, in perfect time It’ll all be okay.

This is one of the painting that will be hang on September, entitled “Payong ng Ngiti”. Inspired with the rain Philippines is experiencing these past few days. Despite the rain, there’s still many reason to smile, there’s color in rain and flood (just looking at the bright side) Good vibes always. Smile! 🙂

September is near approaching for the exhibit…. and it’s kinda worrying…I have nothing to hang yet…I have lots of things to share but…(busy kunwari eh)… I’m doing some commissioned portraits (na super babang commission, hihihi, pantawid gutom…pero thankful na din kesa wala). How much I wish to visit blogs…but this shit computer at home really *&@/…. mas mabagal pa sa kabagalan. Sorry, bawe bawe nalang pag may time 🙂

ASEAN-Philippines Painting Contest (FINALIST)

Lately I joined ASEAN-Philippines Painting Contest… I jumped with happiness when I received an email from the DFA that I qualified as one of the 30 semi-finalist weeks ago. I became speechless… for being a semi-finalist is already a big achievement… it’s my first time to qualify in national competition. It gave me hope, and I prayed that it will win, or if not, just qualify to 12 finalist.

The awarding date has passed and I didn’t receive any email from them… so I felt sad (I already knew what does it mean)… but it’s totally ok 🙂 Win or lose, it was a great experience.

But today, August 15, 2013, when I opened my email, I received an email from them that I am one of the 12 FINALIST. WOW!! (tears of joy). Thank You Lord :))))))))))

The 12 art pieces will be utilized for ASEAN promotional materials and subsequent exhibits featuring these art works will be held in 2013, as follows:

* 04-11 September 2013, ALumni and Public Relations Hall, Philippine Normal University
* 10-17 October 2013, Edsa Shangri-la Plaza Mall, Ortigas Center -Atrium, Main Wing
* 18-31 October 2013, Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) – 2nd floor, Hallway
* 1-30 November 2013, Philippine Information Agency (PIA)
* 1-15 December 2013, San Beda College – Alabang Museum

Other promotional events will be organized in 2014.

Frustrated

 

-I’m frustrated… I’m not going to join Petron painting contest anymore… why? No more time! Though the deadline was moved from August 9 to August 12 (hindi buo loob ko sumali, kung rush lang din naman).

-It’s quite sad, but it’s ok… 🙂 Cheer up Jessica! Not all competitions, you’ll grab, ok? Life if full of happiness, just take your time, you’ll achieve your goals through years, so enjoy every moment (payong sarili medyo down)

Nganga-ness

 

– Nganga-ness! This is my entry for Petron Student Painting Contest, I started it August 1, and today is August 4, and the deadline is on August 9. There are 5 days more left, I wonder if I can beat the deadline? I don’t know. When I woke up this morning, I didn’t even comb my hair (haggard lang, haha) I started to work on this until 6:30 pm, and I’m still 20% done.  The coming week will become a busy week: school requirements, midterm exam, lesson plans, in campus practice teaching…(maisisingit ko pa ba matapos ito???)

-About the entry, I will share the story why I chose my mahal as my subject next post.

July 30, 2013 : My former instructor invited me to become a speaker in her 3 art classes (Bachelor of Elementary) students, to share something about my “expertise” (daw) in arts. At first when she invited me days ago, I’m surprised because I don’t expect that someone like me will be invited to speak, and in the first place (I feel I’m not credible enough yet, I’m also student like them). I just said yes (to the maximum nervousness).

So when I spoke in 3 sections of BEE third years (consisting of around 150 students), at first I’m so nervous, but when I became comfortable, there it goes…. (hindi na maawat pa, hehe)

I really thank Dr. Alma Vida Gallardo for the opportunity.. for the great experience, it was my first time and it is very fulfilling sharing what I know, and it would be just additional reward if I have touched even just one to pursue arts 🙂

About the exhibit, it will be held at GSIS, Pasay (September 24,2013, opening). Wuy punta kayo ha please? I’m so blessed that, my first group exhibit ill be held outside Baguio City, which supposedly I should start from my hometown. Well, kung nasaan ang opportunity doon tayo, I thank the President of the group for joining me. Thanks Sir Boy Capital.

Wala pa ako budget sa pagpunta doon, nganga! Hanap pa mga clients para gawan portraits, para may pang-Manila. Sana wag umatras mga nagpagawa sa akin, saaaaaannnaaaaa talaga :))))

Un nga lang nga-ngers pag wala bibili ng paintings, hehe! Let’s pray makabenta (not all for my own profit, but I’m dedicating it to someone I want to help) I will hang the best painting that I can. I will hang some old paintings, and some I will make new. In the next posts I will feature each painting… I’m looking forward it would be successful 🙂

Invited Kayo

Ipagdasal natin maging matagumpay ang show na ito, invited ka ha.. hihihihi 🙂 Sa wakas may pakinabang din mga gawa ko, sa wakas maisasabit na din sa isang exhibit…. at nang hindi lang nakatambak  sa bahay. Kita kits ha??? 🙂 Salamat sa suporta. Mabuhay Lakbay Kulay.

Thank you and advance goodbye

Thank you school for everything we’ve been through in more than 4 years I’m staying in your institution. I knew I was not the best student, not even getting a grade higher than 2.0…. but you know, you taught me more than academics. You taught me to become wiser in life.  Thank you for the ups and downs, the friendships built, thank you for the amazing professors, they were really great. Thank you for being patient to me, that even I am not worthy for your quality education, I am still privileged to study in a very affordable tuition fee (scholar ng bayan daw).

I’m sorry to disappoint you, because I will not continuing my education anymore. I know you will miss me. hehe. But I’m just around.

Few months from now, I will be stepping another chapter of my life. It’s not a very easy decision, it takes a lot of consideration… but this where my heart brings me.  I will pursue becoming an artist, full-time visual artist after this semester. I know for some, it’s not practical, but guys… I need respect. I hope that I will not be judged, but I’m ready to face it. I don’t know what life will be after pursuing my dream, but I am ready to fail, at least I don’t have regrets in my heart. And I did what makes me happy.

 

Mahirap ito..pero sana mapanindigan ko..sinusulat ko ito na may lungkot, kasabay ang saya. 

 

Life and Empty (Art of Life)

 

I’ve got nothing to say, the white and plain image says it all. Our life is plain, empty…..

 

BUT….

 

There’s a big butt! We have the choice to turn that plain image into something more colorful and meaningful. We are free to write anything in that shit plain image. That’s us! We are free.! We are the master of our fate. We can write anything in our life, we can wite something in it.. draw… paint… anything! And whatever our choice to do in it, we make art, that’s the art of our life. Not everyone may appreciate the piece, at least we lived our lives the way we wanted it to be. We can’t please everybody, but the happiness of doing what we love is incomparable.
